National, 12 November 2025: The I Am Peacekeeper Movement was privileged to host Honourable Mr. Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, in an engaging, culture-rich Zoom session with Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Executive Director, Wockhardt; CEO, Wockhardt Foundation, and Founder, I Am Peacekeeper Movement. As part of the I Am Peacekeeper @ Zoom series, the illuminating conversation explored how education, skills, and sustainable tourism intersect to restore dignity, nurture opportunity, and inspire compassionate development, values central to Mr. Along’s vision for India’s future.
As India’s “legendary peacekeeper” and champion of North-East cultural progress, Mr. Along shared how thoughtful learning and responsible travel create infrastructure for peace, even as technology brings people closer across distances. “Education does not begin or end in the classroom; it is a lifelong journey of knowledge-seeking, humility and human connection,” he emphasized, urging young leaders to cultivate habits of listening, patience and steady self-improvement.
Commenting on Mr. Along’s candour, humility and lucid storytelling, Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Executive Director, Wockhardt; CEO, Wockhardt Foundation, and Founder, I Am Peacekeeper Movement, voiced: “Mr. Along’s insights have illuminated how learning, compassion and cultural pride shape not only stronger communities but stronger individuals. His emphasis on empathy, service, and transformative leadership deeply resonates with the core principles of the I Am Peacekeeper Movement, which unites people worldwide around values of dignity, humility, and collective responsibility. On behalf of the I Am Peacekeeper family, we express our deep gratitude for his wisdom and for inspiring us to lead with dignity, openness and humanity.”
Mr. Along advocated a practical reform in campuses: “Classroom learning should blend with ground practice and open space for new ideas, not be limited to resources alone. Imagination and the courage to assert new solutions are the engines of transformation.”
From the hills of Nagaland, a land renowned for its hospitality and music, Mr. Along celebrated the ‘Aditi Devo Bhava’ spirit, translating ‘guests are our God’, which he noted as a deeply rooted value in Naga youth. “Tourism is most powerful when travellers come as seekers of knowledge, not just sightseers,” he remarked. “Hospitality, openness and cultural responsibility distinguish the region and set an example for all.”
He urged all listeners and Peacekeeper community members to “hold out your hand first”—symbolizing the human value of helping and serving others, which he identified as most dear. “Each of us is a peacekeeper in our own way, making a difference in our families, workplaces and communities. Every drop matters in the ocean of humanity,” Mr. Along reflected.
The interactive session also covered the importance of spirituality and staying grounded, the responsibility government carries in enabling practical education, and the significance of leading with humility, often choosing silence and patience over confrontation in public life. The conversation stands as a stirring call to unite education, culture and entrepreneurship, as India walks forward with hope, pride and peace.
The I Am Peacekeeper @ Zoom series is a globally impactful initiative by the I Am Peacekeeper Movement that brings together influential leaders, changemakers, and advocates from around the world to inspire meaningful dialogue and collective action for peace. Each session highlights critical issues such as justice, compassion, education, and social empowerment, fostering a united global community committed to creating a more equitable and peaceful future.
