Indian Oil Launches ‘Project Quest’ – A CSR Initiative Empowering Visually Impaired Students with Digital Scribe Support

Reinforcing its commitment to social inclusion and accessible education, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) officially launched ‘Project Quest’, a dedicated website and mobile application platform designed to provide scribe support and academic assistance to visually impaired students. The launch took place at the Indian Oil Punjab State Office, Chandigarh, under the aegis of IOCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

The platform was unveiled by Shri Asutosh Gupta, Executive Director and State Head, IOCL Punjab State Office, in the presence of Mr. Arif Akhtar, GM (CSR), Indian Oil Corporation, along with senior officials from IOCL and the project’s implementation partner, Save The Quest, led by its Founder, Mr. Saif Ahmad Khan.

A Digital Leap for Inclusive Education

Project Quest marks a significant milestone in Indian Oil’s CSR efforts focused on education and empowerment. The newly launched website and mobile app will allow visually impaired students to register and connect with trained scribes for writing exams, recording classroom notes, and receiving study support—bringing dignity, independence, and equal opportunity to their academic journeys.

This first-of-its-kind CSR-backed platform blends digital accessibility with volunteer engagement, ensuring a structured and high-quality solution for thousands of visually challenged learners. With Project Quest, they are investing in the future of countless young minds who deserve equal access to education. This platform reflects their belief that true progress includes every member of society.

Strategic CSR Support Across Northern India

Under Indian Oil’s CSR umbrella, Project Quest will be actively implemented in the regions of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Chandigarh. These geographies will receive full infrastructure and operational support from Indian Oil, ensuring a robust and sustainable rollout. Outside these regions, the initiative will be managed independently by Save The Quest.

Implementation by Save The Quest

The platform is executed on-ground by Save The Quest, a non-profit organization known for its dedicated work in supporting visually impaired students. With a legacy of volunteer mobilization and digital inclusion, the NGO brings grassroots expertise and credibility to the project.

Mr. Saif Ahmad Khan, Founder of Save The Quest, shared:
“We are grateful to Indian Oil for believing in this vision. Project Quest’s digital platform will redefine how visually impaired students access educational support, and Indian Oil’s backing has made this dream a reality.”
