Chennai | January 16, 2026: Beyond 8 School recently hosted an immersive experiential learning program at Pallavaram Shandy, a historic 120-year-old marketplace that continues to serve as a vital hub for farmers, traders, and communities across the region. By stepping into a living marketplace, learners were encouraged to observe, interact, and analyze how theory translates into practice. The program was designed to prepare students for life beyond school by exposing them to authentic economic, social, and cultural systems in action.

The bustling shandy offered learners a dynamic environment to connect academic concepts with real-life experiences. Students observed firsthand how demand and supply fluctuate through the day and how these changes directly influence pricing. They engaged in conversations with vendors, practicing negotiation and communication skills while gaining confidence in interacting with diverse stakeholders.
In addition to economic principles, the learners strengthened their adaptability and problem-solving abilities as they navigated a constantly changing marketplace. Studying consumer behavior in such a vibrant setting allowed them to analyze decision-making patterns, purchasing motivations, and the role of cultural and demographic factors in shaping markets.
