After which action was taken by telecom companies to stop fraud calls and SMS. According to a report, Jio, Airtel, VI and BSNL together are blocking 45 lakh fraud calls every day.
After the instructions of the Department of Telecommunications DoT and Trai, telecom companies have succeeded in stopping fraud calls. According to the Ministry of Communications, so far one-third of the total 45 lakh fraud calls are being prevented from entering the Indian telecom network. International fraud calls are also being identified in this.
Numbers of 1.77 crore users blocked
DoT has also blocked the numbers of those who had obtained mobile connections on fake documents. According to the data, DoT has blocked the numbers of 1.77 crore users so far. Along with this, 33.48 lakh mobile connections have been disconnected. Apart from this, 49,930 mobile handsets used by criminals have also been blocked. The numbers of those people have also been disconnected, who had issued mobile connections beyond the prescribed limit of one ID.
Around 20,000 organizations involved in sending malicious SMS and 32,000 SMS headers and 2 lakh SMS templates have been disconnected. Along with this, 71,000 SIM agents have also been blacklisted. These steps have been taken by the Department of Telecommunications to prevent cyber crime and fraudulent activities in India.
